Cape Breton Island is known worldwide for its beauty.

A Little About Our Island

From the Straits of Canso at the southern end to the towering ocean cliffs of the famous Cabot Trail at the northern end, it is a panorama of rolling mountains, crystal clear water, rushing streams, quaint fishing villages, and white sandy beaches.
The Bras d’Or Lakes, at 60 miles long, is almost without a tide at all. Known as the “great inland sea”, the Bras d’Or Lakes cover 450 square miles. Low mountains rise from its many scenic arms often resembling a Scottish loch. The Bras d’Or Lakes has a reputation as being one of the greatest sailing destinations in the world.
