| In 1873, there was an extremely bad storm which is referred to as "The August Gale". This is one of two houses in Washabuck which survived this gale completely unscathed. The property can be traced back to Mr. Colin MacIver, who received a land grant from Queen Victoria in 1857. The house was built in 1810. |
